We all do. Who has not heard or owned or seen an Apple product - the iPod or the Mac. In an recent survey done by polling over a 1000 young Japanese females in the age group of 20 to 26, the famous Apple design rates highest as the most well designed object.
Apple got the top spot in good design among items owned or previously owned, the top spot in superior design among objects never owned, and the second in brand image behind only Sony.
Apple actually took three of the top 20 spots in the "good design among products owned"
category, with iPods taking number one, Apple's notebooks taking fourth
place, and Apple's desktop offerings taking 20th. In the "good design among products never owned"
category, Apple's iPod, iPhone, desktops and notebooks took four of the
top five spots.
Apple was also overwhelmingly the most favorable company in cumulative votes among the same two categories, more than doubling up Sharp in the first category and beating Toyota, Nissan, Sharp, Sony, and Nintendo combined in the second.
