This is wonderful stuff. Bento is a single-portion takeout or home-packed meal common in Japanese cuisine . A traditional bento consists of rice, fish or meat, and one or more pickled or cooked vegetables as a side dish. Now it is very common to see bento lunch boxes in convenience stores all across Japan, the real charm is the ability of Japanese housewives to make an visually appealing and appetising bento box.
Bento can be very elaborate, aesthetically pleasing cuisine
arrangements. The food is often arranged in such a way as to resemble
other objects: dolls, flowers, leaves, and so forth. Just take a look at these pictures of bento boxes. I salute the Japanese housewives. Just looking at these lunch boxes makes me feel wistful, hungry and be charmed for life:-).
Who wouldn't want to eat such lovely looking stuff. More cute bento boxes after the break.
